About me
Hi, I’m Ruyi.
I’m currently a Data Scientist at DoorDash, working on fraud, trust, and safety. A lot of my work is about making sense of messy, real-world behavior — figuring out what’s actually happening, how to measure it properly, and how to make better decisions from it.
I didn’t start in this space. Before DoorDash, I was in marketing analytics at Knix, where I spent a lot of time thinking about attribution, experiments, and customer behavior. That’s really where I learned to care less about surface-level metrics and more about what’s truly driving outcomes.
What I enjoy most about data is the thinking behind it — breaking down ambiguous problems, questioning assumptions, and getting to something that actually makes sense.
Outside of work, I’m doing my master’s in Computer Science at Georgia Tech. I read quite a lot, and I have 3 cats and 3 dogs, which honestly takes up more brain space than anything else.
This site is just a place for me to think out loud, share things I’m learning, and document what I’m working on.
